December 2010

I don't usually write when we are not on the road. But I thought I would do a quick sketch of how our time off the truck has been like.

The first weekend we were home, the truck got broke into while we were parked at the Press. It was cold and rainy and someone needed shelter. They broke a window in the camper part. And they must have spent the weekend in there. Our blankets were out, and a nest was made on the bed for them. They went through everything that we had left in there, but so far we can't see anything stolen.

We flew out to Kansas for a couple weeks in December. It was nice to have my three children together and celebrate the Christmas holidays together.

While we were there, we went to Chase's school program, and several programs that Victoria was in, such as her school program, two Church programs, a piano recital and watch her do gymnastics. We also went kayaking with Laura and the boys, Jeff and his daughter and nephew Michael. It was cold. But then it is winter!

As soon as we got back, we had to hurry to get our inventory finished, because we had to go to Sacramento the week between Christmas and New Year's to help with their inventory.

While I was there, I had the opportunity to go out to lunch with Lorene, a friend for almost 40 years. We've seen each other in about seven or eight different states, but have never had time to have one on one time before. I loved it.

We flew home New Year's Eve. So we had our party on New Year's Night. That's nicer, you don't have to stay up so late.
