August 8 Winnemucca, NV

We decided to use our time wisely, so we spent about four and a half hours in the trailer. During Campmeeting we need ten to twenty of the same book on the shelves , but for our regular runs, we only need three or four books of each book. We had lunch at 2:00 at Olive Garden. Great food today. Then we went back to the motel. As soon as we got there, we received a call saying that the truck was finished. Everything about the truck break-down was a miracle. (1) It could have happened on our way to Campmeeting, That could have kept us from being there at all. (2) When Jim first heard the 'pop' in Tahoe, had he turned off the engine to check it out, we wouldn't have been able to start it again to drive down the mountain to Carson City. Then we would have had to be towed so much further, paying far more than the $500. we paid. (3) In order to tow us, they disconnected the drive shaft. In doing that, they noticed that the U-Joints were very tight. (4) The Freight Liner store was so busy they didn't expect to even be able to look at it or fix it today. They had the truck in by late morning. (5) Apparently the 'pop' Jim heard was when the cable disconnected (broke off) the battery. That was why the truck wouldn't start again, once it was turned off. (6)When they re-connected the drive shaft, they put on new U-Joints. Apparently we would never have known there was a problem with that until it quit. (7) Had the U-Joints quit on us, chances are excellent that it would have happened when we were on a three month trip and not close to a Freight Liner service center. Our schedule is too tight, that setting a day or two waiting to get it fixed would cause scheduling problems BIG-TIME. As it is, we have three weeks or so to play with right now. It is always so exciting to watch the way God takes care of us.
